Payroll
Payroll is the process of paying employees. It can also refer to a list of paid employees or the total amount of money paid to those employees. A payroll system is what a business uses to pay the correct amounts of money to the right people on the required dates.
CIS
The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is a HMRC scheme which applies if you work for a contractor in the construction industry but not as an employee, so for example as a self-employed individual. The CIS rules mean that the contractor is usually obliged to withhold tax from their payments to you, at a rate of either 20% if you are ‘registered’ or 30% if you are not.
This is different from other self-employed individuals not within the construction industry, who normally receive their payments without any tax being deducted before the payment is made to them (this is called gross payment).
PAYE
Most people pay Income Tax through PAYE . This is the system your employer or pension provider uses to take Income Tax and National Insurance contributions before they pay your wages or pension.
Our team provide Payroll, CIS and PAYE services to many local and national businesses. Contact us here to enquire about this service.
VAT (Value Added Tax) is a tax added to most products and services sold by VAT-registered businesses.
Businesses have to register for VAT if their VAT taxable turnover is more than £85,000. They can also choose to register if their turnover is less than £85,000.

- meet your legal duties and obligations
- calculate how much tax you owe HMRC
- show investors how well the business is doing
- raise capital for the business
So make the maintenance of the accounts a regular thing and not just an annual event to satisfy the tax man!
